I understand what you're saying, I understand you can use EmuDeck or the RetroArch core individually. It isn't that RetroArch is lacking a feature, it is that the emu community hasn't built RetroArch cores for every emulator. You aren't going to get the RetroArch menu/overlay for the emulators that are not running via a RetroArch core. The PCSX2 core for RetroArch is still in beta support and has known issues. It should be using the standalone flatpak for the PCSX2 emulator. The retroarchtemplate.psd and the retroarchtemplate1080.psd contain a transparent.
